Erik ten Hag finally reveals details of Jadon Sancho ‘clear-the-air’ meeting as Man Utd star set to return

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has detailed his ‘clear-the-air’ talks with Jadon Sancho as the winger prepares to return to action.

Sancho has been included in Manchester United’s traveling squad for their upcoming pre-season friendly against Rangers, marking his first appearance for the club since August.

Earlier in September, there was a public disagreement between them over Sancho’s training performances, resulting in his exclusion from the squad. He was sidelined from the first team after reportedly failing to apologize to Ten Hag, spending the latter half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund.

Initially, it was expected that United would sell Sancho upon his return to Old Trafford. However, he has now been reintegrated into the first team following positive discussions with the Dutchman.

While Ten Hag declined to elaborate on the specifics of their meeting when questioned last week, he has since commented on his private discussions with Sancho ahead of the winger’s return to action with United.

Ahead of the Rangers match, he informed Dutch outlet AD: “We had a good conversation. Everyone can make mistakes. We draw a line and move forward. This club needs talented players and Jadon is undoubtedly one. I hope he will integrate well and contribute to our success.”

Having played a pivotal role in Dortmund’s journey to the Champions League final this season, the 24-year-old aims to make a positive impact on Manchester United’s squad once again.

Joining him in the Rangers squad is 18-year-old defender Leny Yoro, whom United recently signed from Lille for £50 million. With key winger Alejandro Garnacho resting after winning the Copa America with Argentina and Marcus Rashford recovering from a minor injury, Sancho aims to impress during pre-season matches to secure a starting spot in the Community Shield clash against Manchester City on August 10.
