Hansi Flick makes a surprising decision regarding the Barcelona star
German coach Hansi Flick has taken charge at Barcelona with the aim of restoring the team’s lost balance from the previous season and preparing them for a challenging upcoming campaign.
His appointment came after a rift developed between former coach Xavi Hernandez and Barcelona President Joan Laporta.
According to reports from the Spanish newspaper Sport, Flick has decided that Barcelona should part ways with one of their star players during this summer’s transfer window, ahead of the
preseason preparations for the new season. The newspaper revealed that Flick does not want Joao Felix to return to Barcelona and has asked Laporta to halt negotiations with Atletico Madrid regarding the player’s purchase or loan renewal.
Sport added that Flick is disappointed with Joao Felix’s recent performances, citing his loss of starting position with the Portuguese national team and inconsistent form with Barcelona last season.
The newspaper concluded that Flick has informed the player’s agent that he will not be part of Barcelona’s squad next season and should seek opportunities away from the club, potentially with Atletico Madrid.
