Manchester United fans have named the one player who was ‘like a new signing’ in their pre-season friendly win over Rangers.
Erik ten Hag’s team secured their second victory of the summer with a 2-0 win, as Amad Diallo and Joe Hugill scored on either side of halftime.
Manchester United enjoyed another positive outing, with Jadon Sancho returning to action for the first time since August and new signing Leny Yoro making his debut. Yoro impressed fans with his passing and tackling in the first half before being substituted at halftime for midfielder Maxi Oyedele.
However, it was goalscorer Amad who particularly stood out. His first-half goal saw him dribble in from the right wing and curl a shot into the corner, leaving United supporters eager to see more of the Ivorian in action this season.
Last season, he featured in nine Premier League matches under Ten Hag, scoring one goal. He also secured the decisive goal in Manchester United’s exhilarating 4-3 FA Cup quarter-final triumph over Liverpool at Old Trafford in March.
Following his display at Murrayfield on Saturday, fans showered the winger with compliments, highlighting his growth and improvement, particularly during his loan spell at Rangers in the 2021/22 season.
One fan commented, “Amad playing on the right is practically like having a new signing. He’s a significant upgrade over Antony.”
Another supporter agreed, emphasizing, “This upcoming season is crucial for him. We’re going to see a lot more of his talent.”
Reflecting on Amad’s abilities, a third fan remarked, “Honestly, Amad might just be Manchester United’s top winger. He’s incredibly intelligent and nimble, just needs a bit more strength to handle challenges.”
Adding to the praise, a fourth fan asserted, “Amad should definitely get substantial playing time next season, whether or not we bring in another winger. Right now, he’s our strongest option on the right and has the potential to become a key player for us.”
