Manchester United are reportedly looking to sign a talented Arsenal academy forward this summer.
Erik ten Hag has been quick to act in this summer’s transfer window, having already finalized deals for Leny Yoro and Joshua Zirkzee. Manchester United officially acquired Zirkzee on July 14 for a reported fee of £35 million, followed just five days later by the signing of 18-year-old French defender Yoro from Lille, for approximately £52.18 million.
Now, Manchester United appears poised to make their third summer signing with talks underway to secure academy prospect Chido Obi-Martin. The 16-year-old forward, formerly with Arsenal, became available after his contract recently expired. United have engaged in discussions with Obi-Martin, though negotiations are in the early stages.
He quickly advanced from the U16 to the U18 level at Arsenal, demonstrating his talent by scoring four goals each against Crystal Palace and Fulham. His performance continued to shine with five goals against West Ham United and a remarkable seven goals in a match against Norwich City later in the season. In total, he scored an impressive 29 goals in just 17 appearances for Arsenal’s U18 team.
On the international stage, Obi-Martin contributed significantly to Denmark’s 2024 UEFA European Under-17 Championship qualification efforts, scoring two goals across three group-stage matches.
