Barcelona is close to signing the player that Real Madrid wants as a replacement for Kroos

Toni Kroos announced recently more than a week that this was his last season like player of the Real Madrid

Moreover, he chose to retire after the Eurocopa controversy this summer. He is fulfilling his ‘goal’ of concluding his football career on a high note, having showcased once more his status as one of the greatest midfielders ever and playing a vital role in Carlo Ancelotti’s project.

Real Madrid has been gearing up for the exits of Kroos and Modric by acquiring several new players. It looks like Fede Valverde, Jude Bellingham, Aurélien Tchouaméni, and Eduardo Camavinga, all under 25, will be tasked with leading the midfield. At this point, the club hasn’t contemplated making a major financial outlay for another midfielder, except possibly for Florian Wirtz in 2025.

In Germany, it has been reported that Real Madrid could be interested in acquiring Joshua Kimmich, who famously stopped Vinicius Jr. during the Champions League semifinals while playing as a right-back. According to ‘BILD,’ Madrid views Kimmich as a potential asset to bolster their midfield and may consider pursuing his transfer this summer, presenting an unexpected development in the story.

Kimmich’s future remains uncertain and will likely hinge on Vincent Kompany’s plans, as the new Bayern Munich coach. Kompany is anticipated to present a project to restore the team’s stature. Kimmich had previously thought about leaving, especially during Thomas Tuchel’s time, and FC Barcelona has consistently viewed him as a prime candidate to enhance their midfield.
