Barcelona have reportedly placed eight players on the transfer list in a bid to free up funds for a big summer signing.
The Blaugrana are still facing severe financial challenges and cannot spend freely without consequences.
Due to their debt, they’ve had trouble adhering to La Liga’s regulations and have recently struggled to register new signings promptly.
The Catalan club aims to bolster their squad this summer to compete with Real Madrid and has been strongly linked with Spain’s Euro 2024 stars, Nico Williams and Dani Olmo.
However, they need to sell players to adjust their budget accordingly.
According to The Athletic, eight players have been put up for sale at the right price.
Big earners Frenkie de Jong and Ronaldo Araujo are both named on the list but both suffered injuries which will almost definitely halt any transfers.
Raphinha is reportedly available for transfer but prefers to stay at Barcelona, whereas the club is open to letting his compatriot Vitor Roque move on.
With an excess of center-backs, both Clement Lenglet and Mikayil Faye are up for sale. Lenglet, who was on loan at Villa last season, still commands a high salary, while Faye’s transfer value has yet to attract significant interest.
Ferran Torres, who was signed for £48.4 million after just one and a half seasons at Manchester City, is also available despite his versatility and the fact that only Robert Lewandowski scored more goals for the club last season.
Reports indicate that top target Nico Williams is likely to remain at Athletic, but Barcelona continues to pursue Dani Olmo with strong interest.
The 26-year-old, a Barcelona native who played for Espanyol and spent time in the La Masia academy, has found success with Dinamo Zagreb and RB Leipzig.
Olmo previously had a £50.5 million release clause in his contract, but it has now expired, altering the dynamics of a potential transfer.
