Barcelona lost two of their top young talents to injuries last season, with Gavi and Alejandro Balde sidelined for the entire second half of the campaign.
Gavi has been out since November 2023 due to an ACL injury and is still a long way from returning.
Balde, who sustained a thigh injury in January that required surgery, is showing significant progress in his recovery. The 20-year-old left-back recently told new manager Hansi Flick that he hopes to be fit for pre-season, as discussed in their meeting last week.
Balde is focused on excelling under Hansi Flick, according to Mundo Deportivo. The 20-year-old is diligently working on his recovery to regain full fitness and achieve success with the new manager. Recently, he has started training on grass again and is gradually intensifying his workload.
While many of his teammates are away on international duty or vacation, the left-back diligently trains at the club’s Ciutat Esportiva complex every day. In a video released by the club today, Balde is shown working out in the gym with weights and medicine balls, as well as training on the field with full physical effort and a ball, marking a significant progress in his recovery.
