Manchester City have been fined £2.09 million by the Premier League over breaches separate from their 115 charges for FFP.
Manchester City is already in conflict with the Premier League regarding 115 alleged violations of financial regulations. Additionally, the club has been penalized for violating a lesser-known rule 22 times over two seasons.
The club has been fined over £2 million for 22 instances of kick-off delays, a penalty that was accepted and confirmed in a statement by the league.
Reports also indicate that the late kick-offs include restarts after the 15-minute half-time break in league matches.
The statement said: “The Premier League and Manchester City FC have reached a sanction agreement after the club acknowledged violating Premier League Rule L.33 regarding kick-off and re-start obligations.
“The breaches involve several Premier League matches from the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons.
“These rules are crucial for maintaining the highest professional standards in organizing the competition and providing certainty for fans and participating clubs. They also ensure that all 380 League matches are broadcasted on schedule worldwide.
“As required by Premier League Rules, the sanction agreement has been approved by three members of the Independent Judicial Panel.”
Manchester City added: “The club has apologized and reminded its players and management teams of their responsibilities.”
This recent development follows the defending English champions’ ongoing legal dispute over alleged breaches of financial regulations with the Premier League.
