Manchester City has had a relatively quiet summer so far, with the only announcement being Savio’s arrival. However, more signings are anticipated soon. Additionally, Julian Alvarez’s recent comments have drawn attention, as he expressed his dissatisfaction with his current situation.

Manchester City has had a notably quiet summer, with only Savio’s arrival confirmed so far, though additional signings are anticipated soon. Additionally, Julian Alvarez has made headlines with recent statements revealing his dissatisfaction with the playing time and role he received last season. He feels he deserves more significant playing opportunities and is unwilling to accept a secondary role or participation in minor matches.

According to the Spanish newspaper El Nacional, Pep Guardiola has requested Manchester City officials to negotiate a swap deal with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez. The proposed deal would see World Cup champion Julian Alvarez move to Real Madrid in exchange for acquiring the prized Brazilian talent, Rodrygo Goes.

The report also notes that Guardiola has long admired Rodrygo and has previously attempted to bring him to Manchester City. However, the 23-year-old forward had declined to leave the Santiago Bernabeu. With the arrival of Kylian Mbappe, Rodrygo might reconsider his stance.

The newspaper confirmed that Real Madrid does not appear very enthusiastic about the idea of swapping Rodrygo, who still has Carlo Ancelotti’s trust, for Julian Alvarez. Florentino Pérez prefers to retain Rodrygo despite his inconsistent performance last season and Real Madrid’s need for a striker with Alvarez’s qualities.
