If he wants to leave I can’t stop him it’s his choice we don’t force player to stay at City-Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola admits he won’t stop £35m player if he wants to leave Man City this summer

Acknowledging that he cannot prevent the £35 million player from leaving Manchester City this summer, Pep Guardiola addressed one of his team’s major concerns following their penalty-filled loss to Barcelona.

Guardiola is less worried about his team’s three consecutive preseason defeats and more focused on preparing them for the 2024–2025 season. This preparation involves decisions on player acquisitions, sales, and ensuring the team’s overall motivation and fitness.

In addition to preparing his squad for preseason matches, the Catalan manager will be closely evaluating which players will remain with the team for the upcoming season.

Manchester City will have to wait to finalize their plans for the current summer transfer window.

For instance, Ederson Moraes, who has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia in recent weeks, has admitted that his future remains uncertain.

Pep Guardiola has provided an update on Ederson, Manchester City’s goalkeeper. According to Fabrizio Romano earlier this month, Stefan Ortega is set to replace Ederson as the team’s starting goalkeeper.

Despite Manchester City’s potential acceptance of Ederson’s departure, it would still be a significant setback for the club.

The £35 million player, along with veterans like Kyle Walker, John Stones, and Kevin De Bruyne, has been crucial to Manchester City’s success under Guardiola.

Pep Guardiola, with evident reluctance, has conceded that he will not prevent Ederson from leaving Manchester City if he decides to do so this summer.

Guardiola expressed his sentiments to TNT Sports Brazil, saying, “My only hope is that he stays with me at City. I want him here and I cherish him. He has been immensely beneficial to us; he is a top-class goalkeeper. I hope he makes his decision clear to us soon. If he needs to go… I will accept it, though it will be with much sorrow.”
