Long serving Liverpool man unhappy at Anfield as club consider summer sale

Liverpool could be forced to step into the transfer market to replace one of their first team players soon.

The Reds have had a relatively uneventful summer transfer window with their new manager, Arne Slot. With the Premier League season set to begin in about two weeks, they have yet to bring in any new players. Following a third-place finish last season and the departure of their legendary manager, Jurgen Klopp, it has become clear that the team needs to make some quality signings. However, they might face the loss of a key player this summer, as defender Joe Gomez is reportedly unhappy at the club, and Liverpool is contemplating selling him if the right offer comes along, according to Football Insider.

The defender, who has been with Liverpool since 2015, is currently the longest-serving player at the club. Although he has not been a regular starter, his versatility has made him an important squad member, particularly during injury crises. Gomez’s potential transfer to Newcastle United fell through, leaving him dissatisfied with the situation.

The player is eager to leave Anfield for a new challenge, and Newcastle United seemed to offer the perfect opportunity.
