Man United ‘agree deal’ for huge double signing ahead of new season

Manchester United have reportedly agreed a huge double deal ahead of the new season.

As the new Premier League season approaches in less than a week, United are working tirelessly to assemble the strongest squad for Erik ten Hag to compete across all competitions.

This summer, the Red Devils have already signed striker Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna and defender Leny Yoro from French club Lille.

Before Saturday afternoon’s FA Community Shield match against Manchester City, reports suggest that United might be poised to secure two additional signings.

According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, who shared on social media: “EXCLUSIVE: Manchester United have agreed to a deal with Bayern Munich for Matthijs de Ligt, worth €45+5m, over 5+1 years, pending a medical.

“Additionally, United’s €15+5m bid for Noussair Mazraoui has been accepted. The deal depends on Wan-Bissaka: #WHUFC has agreed to a £15m fee, with the medical scheduled for Sunday/Monday, and the exit is being finalized.”

The report mentioned: “Pending a medical examination, De Ligt is set to join United on a five-year deal with an option for an additional 12 months.

“Bayern have also agreed to a €15m plus €5m in bonuses offer from United for full-back Noussair Mazraoui. This transfer is dependent on the departure of Aaron Wan-Bissaka from the Premier League club.”

Providing an update on Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s potential departure from Old Trafford, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano stated on social media: “West Ham aim to finalize the deal for Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the coming days, as they are currently focused on completing the paperwork for Todibo.”

“Mazraoui is waiting for Manchester United as soon as AWB leaves.”

Ahead of the FA Community Shield match against City, Ten Hag commented: “We already know we can beat City, and that belief isn’t influenced by Saturday’s result. The FA Cup win was a more significant event than this game, but we still aim to win.

“We’ve demonstrated multiple times that we can defeat City. We must maintain that belief but avoid taking risks with players to prevent long-term injuries, which is a lesson from last season.”

He added: “When you face a pattern of frequent injuries and missing players in the same area of the team, it impacts the results. We aim to improve throughout the season and achieve good results, but players need to be available to do so.”
