Three Chelsea players have been forced to train with the club’s U21 team with one star reportedly barred from the first-team facilities.
The Blues are preparing for the 2024/25 season with their new manager, Enzo Maresca, who took over from Mauricio Pochettino this summer.
Chelsea has been active in the transfer market, signing players such as Marc Guiu, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Filip Jorgensen, Omari Kellyman, Aaron Anselmino, Renato Veiga, Caleb Wiley, and Tosin Adarabioyo.
Regarding departures, Ian Maatsen, Lewis Hall, and Omari Hutchinson have all left the club.
Midfielder Conor Gallagher is nearing a transfer to Spanish La Liga club Atletico Madrid, and more Chelsea players might depart before the month ends.
According to The Telegraph, defender Trevor Chalobah has been restricted from using Chelsea’s first-team facilities.
Additionally, strikers Armando Broja and Romelu Lukaku are also training with the U21 squad alongside Chalobah.
The Telegraph Sport report noted that Chalobah has been excluded from the first-team building at the club’s Cobham training base, aside from his sessions with the development squad.
Another academy graduate, Armando Broja, along with Romelu Lukaku, is among the senior players training with Chelsea’s U21 team, alongside Chalobah.
Chalobah has been rumored to be moving to Aston Villa or Crystal Palace and reportedly turned down a move to Nottingham Forest last summer.
Chelsea is said to have set a £25 million price tag for the defender.
Chelsea is reportedly nearing another new signing, having agreed on a deal for Wolverhampton Wanderers star Pedro Neto.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano posted on social media: “Pedro Neto has arrived in London, with medical tests scheduled for Saturday as he is set to join Chelsea. Neto will sign a contract until June 2030, with an option for an additional season.
“Chelsea believes he is an ideal fit for both wings, bringing flexibility and talent to enhance the team’s quality.”
