Press reports suggest that Spanish club Barcelona might seek to add a new midfielder before the transfer window closes, even though coach Hansi Flick has expressed contentment with his current midfielders. According to Sport newspaper, Barcelona still aims to bring in an additional midfielder, particularly in the central role, to achieve better balance in their lineup ahead of the new season.
Barcelona had previously shown interest in Amadou Onana and Mikel Merino but did not pursue these targets further. Sport newspaper reports that Barcelona has reached out to Carne Chukwuemeka, the 20-year-old Chelsea midfielder. If Flick reassesses his needs in the final weeks of the transfer window, Chukwuemeka will be the top priority for bolstering Barcelona’s midfield.
