Brentford have agreed a deal with Liverpool to sign Fabio Carvalho according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
It has been a relatively quiet summer at Anfield under new manager Arne Alot, with Liverpool not making any new signings so far, though they are negotiating a transfer for Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi.
Despite Carvalho’s strong performances during the pre-season tour of America, it looks like he will be leaving the club, leaving Slot with one fewer player to manage.
Carvalho is set to join Brentford. He arrived at Liverpool from Fulham for £5 million in 2022 and spent last season on loan at RB Leipzig and Hull City.
The 21-year-old scored nine goals for Hull City as they narrowly missed the playoffs but is now ready for a new challenge in London. Despite interest from newly promoted Southampton, who had a bid rejected, and Leicester, Carvalho is reported to be joining Brentford. Romano confirmed the move on X.com, stating:
“Fabio Carvalho to Brentford, here we go! Liverpool are selling Carvalho in a permanent deal.”
The fee for Carvalho is expected to be £20 million, with additional add-ons included. Carvalho has agreed to the terms, and according to @abolapt, he is scheduled to undergo medical tests at Brentford soon.
Liverpool is set to receive a fixed fee of £20 million for Carvalho, plus an additional £7.5 million in add-ons. The deal also includes a 17.5% sell-on clause for Liverpool. The funds are expected to be used in their pursuit of Spanish international Martin Zubimendi.
