Jamie Carragher aims dig at Erik ten Hag after making bold prediction about Man Utd manager’s future

Jamie Carragher aimed a brutal dig at Erik ten Hag when he revealed his ‘hot take’ for the 2024/25 season.

Last season, Manchester United ended up in eighth place in the Premier League, but Ten Hag rescued the 2023/24 season by winning the FA Cup against Manchester City. Since then, Ten Hag has extended his contract at Old Trafford, which now runs until 2026.

However, Carragher is skeptical that the Dutchman will still be in charge come the new year, despite having signed a new contract.

Jamie Carragher took a harsh jab at Erik ten Hag by predicting he might be dismissed before the new year, despite recently signing a contract extension through 2026. During a discussion on The Overlap, Carragher suggested Ten Hag could be gone by November, which he shared as his bold prediction for the 2024/25 season.

He has already secured two trophies, leading his team to victories in the Carabao Cup and FA Cup. The 54-year-old is eager to meet the club’s high expectations.

“I am very pleased to have agreed to continue working with the club,” he said after signing a new contract. “Looking back over the past two years, we can take pride in winning two trophies and making significant progress from where we were when I first joined.”

“However, it’s important to recognize that there is still a lot of hard work needed to meet the expectations of Manchester United, including competing for English and European titles. In my discussions with the club, we have found full alignment in our vision for achieving these goals, and we are all firmly committed to pursuing that journey together.”
