Manchester City star suffers horror injury just days before start of the season

Manchester City player Oscar Bobb has endured a severe injury just days before the new Premier League season begins.

Manchester City aim to secure a fifth consecutive Premier League title in the 2024-25 season, with Oscar Bobb expected to play a key role in their pursuit. The 21-year-old winger made a strong impression last season with several notable appearances, including scoring a dramatic late winner in a 3-2 victory over Newcastle in January.

Manchester City are aiming for a fifth consecutive Premier League title in the 2024-25 season, with Oscar Bobb expected to play a crucial role in their campaign. The 21-year-old winger impressed last season with standout performances, including a dramatic late goal in a 3-2 win over Newcastle in January.

Initially, Bobb was anticipated to be a key option on the right wing for Pep Guardiola this season. However, it was reported on Wednesday that Bobb has sustained a fractured leg, as confirmed by Jack Gaughan of the Daily Mail.

Although a full evaluation is pending, Bobb is expected to be sidelined for several months.

In Bobb’s absence, new signing Savio is likely to be Guardiola’s primary right-wing choice, although Phil Foden and Jeremy Doku are also available for that position.

This significant injury, combined with the departure of Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid, might prompt City to seek another attacker in the transfer market.

City will start their Premier League title defense with a challenging away match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, August 18.
