As the summer transfer window nears its critical phase, European clubs are intensifying their efforts to enhance their squads for the demanding season ahead. Real Madrid is looking to bolster its team with impactful deals while avoiding excessive expenditure, in line with the strategy set by Florentino Pérez.

Real Madrid has shown interest in Alphonso Davies, the Canadian left-back from Bayern Munich, who has one year remaining on his contract with the German club. Despite Real Madrid’s attempts to acquire Davies, Bayern Munich’s management has declined to part with him, considering him a key player for their squad.

German journalist Florian Plettenberg, associated with “Sky Sports,” reports that Real Madrid is planning to sign Alphonso Davies on a free transfer once his contract with Bayern Munich expires in the summer of 2025. Plettenberg noted that Bayern Munich’s management will assess Davies’ performance under coach Vincent Kompany before deciding whether to make a renewed offer to extend his contract in the coming months.

He also mentioned that while it is possible Davies will join Real Madrid for free in 2025, it remains unclear whether there is already a prior agreement between the two parties regarding the potential move.
