William Saliba has set a new Arsenal record that will be difficult to beat after helping the Gunners to a win over Wolves.
Mikel Arteta’s team secured an opening weekend victory for the third consecutive season, with Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka scoring in a 2-0 win.
In doing so, French international Saliba has achieved a notable milestone in Arsenal history.
The 23-year-old, who debuted in the opening match against Crystal Palace in 2022, has now been part of 50 Premier League wins.
According to the club’s official website, Saliba reached this milestone in just 66 matches, making him the fastest Arsenal player to achieve this in the Premier League.
With only eight defeats and 30 clean sheets to his name, Saliba surpasses former players like Nacho Monreal (70 games), Kolo Toure (72 games), and Edu and Sol Campbell (73 games).
Current manager Arteta ranks 12th on Arsenal’s list, reaching 50 wins in 77 games as a player.
Despite Saliba’s impressive record, it still falls short of the Premier League record.
In fact, Saliba is currently ranked 14th in Premier League history, with 13 players ahead of him. Among these are two of his current teammates, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus, who have achieved their impressive win totals through their time at Manchester City.
Manchester City players dominate the Opta statistic, with Phil Foden and Aymeric Laporte leading the list with 50 wins in their first 59 Premier League appearances.
Didier Drogba is third, followed by Arjen Robben and Gabriel Jesus in the top five.
