Flick picks Bayern Munich star as replacement for Nico Williams at Barcelona

Barcelona officials, led by Joan Laporta, are aiming to sign a prominent player from Bayern Munich during the summer transfer window of 2024 to bolster their squad. The club has already secured a deal for Dani Olmo from Leipzig and is also keen on acquiring Nico Williams. However, Williams appears set to remain with Athletic Bilbao.

According to Spanish newspaper “Sport,” Barcelona is interested in French player Kingsley Coman from Bayern Munich. The club’s main target is still Nico Williams, but since Bayern’s coach, Flick, prefers Coman as a substitute due to his high confidence in the French player, Barcelona might shift their focus.

The newspaper also mentioned that Nico Williams has a release clause of 58 million euros in his contract. Additionally, Barcelona has officially announced the hiring of Hans Flick as their new coach, with an agreement extending until June 30, 2026. Last season, Barcelona finished second in La Liga with 85 points, achieved through 26 wins, 7 draws, and 5 losses.
