Paris Saint Germain reportedly accepted a bid from a Premier League club for Kylian Mbappe before the Frenchmanβs move to Real Madrid.
After months of speculation, it was confirmed this summer that French superstar Kylian MbappΓ© had left PSG for Real Madrid.
Following the confirmation of his move, the 25-year-old shared his excitement on social media, stating: βA dream come true. So happy and proud to join the club of my dreams, Real Madrid. Nobody can understand how excited I am right now. Can’t wait to see you, Madridistas, and thanks for your unbelievable support. Hala Madrid!β
MbappΓ© made his competitive debut for Los Blancos earlier in the week, scoring in a 2-0 win over Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup final.
However, his transfer could have taken a different path. It was reported in the summer of 2023 that PSG had accepted bids from Premier League clubs for MbappΓ©. Portuguese journalist Bruno Andrade revealed on social media: βDirect order from Qatar: MbappΓ©, if he stays at PSG, wonβt play even a minute. The French club has already accepted at least two offers for the striker, one from the Premier League and the other from Al Hilal, but there was no agreement between all parties.β
Previously, MbappΓ© had been linked with several Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City, and Arsenal.
At his presentation in Madrid, MbappΓ© expressed his gratitude, saying: βI want to thank President Florentino PΓ©rez first. He believed in me from the beginning. Many things happened, but I want to express my thanks.
I also want to thank everyone who worked to make this move possible. I know it was challenging, but now Iβm here as a Real Madrid player.β
