Barcelona officials, led by Joan Laporta, are aiming to acquire a top player from Bayern Munich in the current summer transfer window of 2024 to bolster their squad.
Barcelona has already secured a deal for Spanish player Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig and is keen on signing Nico Williams. However, the Basque player appears to be on the verge of extending his stay with Athletic Bilbao.
According to the Spanish newspaper “Sport,” Barcelona’s management is targeting French winger Kingsley Coman from Bayern Munich during this transfer period. Although Barcelona’s primary goal is to sign Nico Williams, who shone at Euro 2024, the club might pivot to Coman as a replacement. Coach Hansi Flick reportedly has strong confidence in Coman’s abilities.
The report also notes that Nico Williams has a release clause of 58 million euros in his contract.
Additionally, Barcelona has officially appointed Hansi Flick as the new coach, with the agreement set until June 30, 2026. Last season, Barcelona finished second in La Liga, accumulating 85 points from 26 wins, 7 draws, and 5 losses.
