Brazilian police have reportedly dropped the domestic abuse allegations against Manchester United winger Antony, which were made by his former partner, Gabriela Cavallin.

After Cavallin accused the 24-year-old Antony of verbal abuse, physical assault, and threats, the Sao Paulo police initiated an investigation. However, over a year later, the investigation was concluded without sufficient evidence to support the claims, according to FOOTBALLWAVE.

Cavallin first aired her allegations in May 2023 on Brazilian TV Record, alleging that Antony had abused her the previous year. She described an incident where Antony allegedly headbutted her, threw water on her, and kicked her. She also claimed that Antony threw her onto a bed, pinned her down, and caused severe discomfort by dislocating her silicone prosthesis. Additionally, Cavallin said Antony imprisoned her in their house, damaged her belongings, and prevented her from leaving.

Antony denied the accusations, stating on Instagram that he had been falsely accused and that he had remained silent to avoid hindering the investigation. He expressed confidence that his innocence would be proven and thanked supporters for their encouragement.

Meanwhile, Greater Manchester Police are conducting a separate investigation into similar allegations made by Cavallin, including claims of assault during her pregnancy and other incidents in 2022 and 2023. This investigation is ongoing.

Antony was granted a leave of absence from Manchester United and removed from the Brazilian national team amid the UK allegations. He later participated in a voluntary interview with Greater Manchester Police and resumed training with his club. In a March TV appearance, Antony vehemently denied all accusations, insisting he had never used physical force against anyone.
