According to Catalan newspaper Sport, Barcelona is increasingly confident about securing Portuguese full-back Joao Cancelo from Manchester City on another loan deal. The report also indicates that Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is supportive of this move, particularly since City is close to re-signing Ilkay Gundogan from Barcelona for free.
Barcelona plans to bring Cancelo back on loan with an option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the loan period. The negotiations are being handled by Jorge Mendes, Cancelo’s agent, who has informed City that the player is keen on a move to Barcelona.
