Manchester United have included 16 years old in their first- team training following is impressive goal-scoring.

On Wednesday, 16-year-old Jim Thwaites had the rare chance to train with Manchester United’s first team at Carrington, a notable achievement for someone so young. Thwaites, who is highly valued by the club, was one of a few academy players invited to join the senior squad as they prepare for their upcoming match against Brighton. His inclusion in this session is a significant endorsement of his talent, especially given his age.

Thwaites has swiftly advanced through United’s academy and is considered one of the top prospects in his age group. Last season, he demonstrated his exceptional skill by winning Manchester United’s Goal of the Season award at both the Under-16 and Under-18 levels. His impressive performances have attracted attention from both coaches and scouts interested in the club’s future stars.

During the previous campaign, Thwaites was instrumental in the Under-16 team’s Premier League North victory, contributing an impressive 78 goals. This success was recognized even by rival coaching staff from Manchester City, who had dominated the U18 league for four consecutive seasons, acknowledging United’s superiority last season. Thwaites’ role was crucial to this achievement, underscoring his ability to perform at a higher level.

Though he mostly played for the U16s, Thwaites also made nine appearances for the U18s and two substitute appearances for the Under-21s. His rapid advancement through the ranks highlights the club’s confidence in his potential. As the new season begins, Thwaites is expected to be a key player in Adam Lawrence’s Under-18 squad, where he is likely to have a significant role. His participation in first-team training is a clear sign of his progress and the bright future Manchester United envisions for him, recognizing his hard work and potential as a crucial part of their long-term plans.
