Manchester United fans are blaming one player for allowing Brighton to score a last minute winner on Saturday.
In the 95th minute of their match against Brighton and Hove Albion, United conceded a goal to forward Joao Pedro, which ultimately led to their defeat.
Just a week earlier, the Red Devils had narrowly avoided a draw in their first game of the 2024/25 Premier League season, thanks to a decisive goal from new signing Joshua Zirkzee, securing a 1-0 win over Fulham.
Now, following their disappointing performance against Brighton, fans are criticizing one player they believe contributed to the loss.
United supporters have highlighted that Portuguese defender Diogo Dalot seemed out of position during the lead-up to the goal, which allowed Pedro to be completely unmarked in the box.
One fan reacted to a clip of the goal on X, stating: “This is what happens when you overhype average players like Dalot. His lapse in positioning speaks volumes about his concentration levels. Itâs not the first time, and it wonât be the last.”
Another fan agreed, commenting: “Dalot is at the back post AGAIN … but I have an agenda, whatever.”
Yet another pointed out: “There are three players left unmarked at the back post, but Dalot lets the opponent move in 5 yards inside the 18-yard box without attempting to block anything.”
