A Chelsea player is being slammed by fans despite their emphatic 6-2 victory over Wolves.
In a chaotic match at Molineux, Chelsea secured their first win of the 2024/25 season. Nicolas Jackson’s early goal was equalized by Matheus Cunha, but Cole Palmer restored Chelsea’s lead with a long-range lob. This advantage was short-lived as Strand Larsen scored from a set piece to level the score again.
In the second half, Noni Madueke scored a remarkable 14-minute hat-trick, and Joao Felix added a sixth goal. Despite Chelsea’s impressive offensive performance, winger Mykhailo Mudryk faced criticism from fans on social media for failing to score. Comments included, “Yh Mudryk your time is up,” “Mudryk needs to dip though he’s ruining the vibes,” and “Everyone in the attack ate bar Mudryk… his departure can’t come soon enough.”
After his hat-trick, all assisted by Palmer, Madueke told Sky Sports, “It is unbelievable.”
He described his playing style as complementary to Palmer’s, saying, “He is cold and I am fire, so it mixes well. He always finds the right moment for a pass. I like to receive the ball in space, beat opponents, and create opportunities, and fortunately, it worked today.”
The forward also apologized for a social media post made before the match where he criticized Wolverhampton. “I want to apologize to anyone I might have offended,” Madueke said. “It was a human mistake, an accident. It wasn’t meant to be posted. I’m sure Wolverhampton is a lovely town, and I’m sorry. As for the boos, I expected that. It’s part of learning to perform under pressure.”
