After his goal was ruled out during Manchester United’s Premier League match against Brighton & Hove Albion, Alejandro Garnacho shared his thoughts. On August 24 at the Amex Stadium, Manchester United lost 2-1 to Brighton.
Brighton took the lead in the 32nd minute with a goal from Danny Welbeck, assisted by Kaoru Mitoma. Amad Diallo equalized for Manchester United in the 60th minute with help from Noussair Mazraoui. Garnacho, who came on for Marcus Rashford in the 65th minute, scored in the 72nd minute, but VAR disallowed the goal due to an offside position involving Joshua Zirkzee. João Pedro then scored the decisive goal for Brighton in the 95th minute.
After the match, Garnacho posted on Instagram with a photo from the game and the caption, “God has something planned for me, trust the process.” He also thanked the fans in a separate story, saying, “Thank you United fans for always supporting us.”
Currently, Manchester United is in 11th place in the Premier League with three points from two matches.
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag spoke about Garnacho before the Brighton match, noting that while the young Argentine has significant potential, he still has room to grow. Ten Hag highlighted Garnacho’s impressive performance last season and emphasized the importance of hard work in reaching elite status. Garnacho, who began his senior career at Old Trafford in 2022, made 50 appearances last season, scoring 10 goals and providing five assists. This season, he has made two league appearances and contributed one assist. Manchester United’s next Premier League game is against Liverpool at Old Trafford on September 1.
