According to journalist Gerard Romero, who is close to Barcelona, the summer transfer market saw ongoing speculation about Neymar’s return to the club. The Brazilian star expressed a strong desire to return to Barcelona, where he enjoyed some of the best moments of his career. However, his wish faced a major obstacle: Hansi Flick, the German coach leading Barcelona’s new sports project, was not interested in having him on the team, effectively ending any possibility of his return.
Romero added that Flick informed Barcelona officials and Joan Laporta that Neymar was “finished” and had lost his edge due to numerous injuries and a lack of consistency.
