BREAKING NEWS: Reported live by Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool agrees personal terms with £38m-rated Euro 2024 centre-back as Liverpool are now pressured to make signings before transfer deadline. Liverpool are likely to be busy on the transfer front in the coming days as they look to get at least one signing on board this summer. According to reports, it’s been confirmed that Anfield outfit has now agreed and ready to make a move for a “complete” defender who played at Euro 2024. Liverpool plotting late Goncalo Inacio swoop as player agrees personal terms with club.

Liverpool is expected to be active in the transfer market as they seek to make at least one new signing before the summer window closes. With only 10 days remaining, they are currently the only Premier League team yet to make a signing this summer, leaving them with limited time to bolster their squad.

One of Liverpool’s key targets is Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili, though his move to Anfield is anticipated to take place next year rather than immediately. Meanwhile, Liverpool is reportedly considering a move for Goncalo Inacio, a 22-year-old defender from Sporting Lisbon who recently played in Euro 2024. Liverpool has shown interest in Inacio since last year, and the club is now contemplating a concrete effort to sign him. This interest coincides with speculation about Liverpool defender Joe Gomez potentially moving to Newcastle United or Aston Villa.

Despite these transfer activities, Liverpool manager Arne Slot is said to be content with his current squad and does not see an urgent need for new players this summer. Nevertheless, Liverpool’s interest in Inacio indicates they are still looking to strengthen their defensive options.

Goncalo Inacio began his football career at Almada AC before progressing through the ranks at Sporting Lisbon, where he has become a pivotal player. He is widely regarded as one of Europe’s top emerging talents. The Daily Mail once labeled him as one of the “hottest talents in Europe,” and Jacek Kulig of Football Talent Scout described him as a “complete” center-back.

Inacio boasts an impressive record with 174 competitive appearances for Sporting Lisbon, scoring 16 goals and providing nine assists—a notable achievement for a defender. He has also earned 11 caps for Portugal, with two goals and two assists, and was part of the squad for Euro 2024. Reports suggest Liverpool might secure Inacio for a relatively modest fee of £38 million this summer.

With the transfer deadline approaching, Liverpool’s interest in Inacio and the potential departure of Joe Gomez indicate a desire to strengthen their defense. The coming days will be critical as Liverpool looks to enhance their squad before the new season begins.
