Thiago Alcantara signs him for Barcelona and Hansi Flick gives his approval for the player’s arrival

Barcelona is making a final push in the closing hours of the summer transfer window to secure one or two major signings to bolster the squad for strong competition in all tournaments. Despite a significant financial crisis that has limited their ability to make numerous acquisitions, there are reports that Thiago Alcântara is set to join Barcelona, with Hansi Flick having given his approval for the move.

Barcelona is actively pursuing one or two high-profile deals in the final hours of the summer transfer window to enhance their squad for robust competition in all tournaments. It’s important to note that the club’s severe financial crisis has hindered their ability to sign many of the players desired by German coach Hansi Flick.

According to the Spanish newspaper El Nacional, Barcelona has taken significant action in the final hours of the transfer market, and it appears that young Liverpool player Stefan Bajcetic will be the new addition to Hansi Flick’s squad. The injury to Marc Bernal, which left the team without a dedicated central midfielder for the remainder of the season, prompted the club to activate its emergency plan. Thiago Alcântara, the former Barcelona player and Flick’s assistant during the pre-season, has played a key role in facilitating this move.

The newspaper reported that Thiago Alcântara, who is familiar with Stefan Bajcetic from their time together at Liverpool, played a crucial role in persuading Hansi Flick that Bajcetic is the ideal replacement for Marc Bernal and a valuable addition to Barcelona’s midfield. Alcântara spoke highly of Bajcetic, highlighting his quality and potential, and emphasized his ability to make an impact with one or two touches—something Barcelona urgently needs following Bernal’s injury. Additionally, Alcântara praised Bajcetic’s adaptability to high-level competition and his fit within Flick’s system.

With Thiago’s endorsement and Flick’s approval, Barcelona has acted quickly, with sporting director Deco racing to finalize a loan deal with Liverpool. This move would address the team’s shortage of central midfielders without a long-term commitment. Although Liverpool is reluctant to part with one of their top young talents, Bajcetic has expressed a strong desire to join Barcelona over Red Bull Salzburg, who also have a loan agreement in place. However, the process is complicated by Barcelona’s financial difficulties and Financial Fair Play regulations, which pose challenges to registering Bajcetic.
