Liverpool flop forced out by Jurgen Klopp ‘in talks’ to join new club after being made to train on his own

A Liverpool flop ‘is in talks’ to sign for a new club after being made to train on his own.

Naby Keita, who was acquired by former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, joined Liverpool in the summer of 2018 after signing a pre-contract agreement.

Due to a series of injuries, he only started 49 Premier League matches during his tenure at Anfield.

Last year, he moved to Werder Bremen on a free transfer, but his time there is coming to an end.

The 29-year-old played just 5 matches across all competitions last season and was isolated from the team due to a disciplinary issue.

Bremen suspended him and imposed a ‘significant fine’ after he refused to travel with the team for a match against Bayer Leverkusen.

Reports suggest that Keita is now in discussions with Istanbul Basaksehir about a potential transfer.

Sunderland from the Championship also showed interest but could not finalize terms with the player.

Basaksehir, managed by Cagdas Atan, features players like Krzysztof Piatek, Olivier Kemen, and Matchoi Djalo.

Keita is expected to enhance the club’s midfield, having previously played in both Germany and England.

He impressed at Red Bull Salzburg, leading to a transfer to RB Leipzig, where he made 71 appearances and scored 17 goals.

At Liverpool, Keita appeared in 129 matches but faced fitness issues that limited his playtime.

A move to Turkey seems likely, following Victor Osimhen’s recent transfer from Napoli to Galatasaray.
