Two FPL players transferred in by over half a million players ahead of next gameweek

Ahead of Fantasy Premier League gameweek four, nearly half a million managers have transferred in two specific players.

As the Premier League resumed following summer tournaments like Euro 2024 and Copa America, Fantasy Premier League (FPL) also kicked off, reigniting rivalries among friends worldwide.

With domestic football on a brief hiatus for the season’s first international break, FPL managers are eagerly awaiting more updates. Just ten days before the next gameweek deadline, nearly half a million managers have already made their transfers.

Brighton & Hove Albion have been standout performers this season, scoring ten goals and winning all three of their Premier League matches. Consequently, striker Joao Pedro has been transferred into 592,000 FPL teams. The Brazilian has scored two goals in three games, earning 18 points.

Priced at just £5.7 million, Pedro stands out as a budget-friendly forward to complement premium players like Erling Haaland, Mohamed Salah, and Cole Palmer, who remain the top scorers in the game. Pedro isn’t the only player who has been transferred into over half a million FPL teams well before the gameweek four deadline.

Liverpool winger Luis Díaz has gained significant popularity since the end of gameweek three, with 516,000 managers adding him to their teams.

Liverpool, alongside Brighton, has been impressive this season, with Arne Slot proving capable of managing top talent in the Premier League. The Reds have won all three of their opening matches, scoring seven goals and keeping a clean sheet.

Díaz has stood out with three goals and one assist in the three games he’s started. His recent performance, including a first-half brace against Manchester United in the final match of gameweek three, likely contributed to the surge in transfers before gameweek four.
