Punter lands ‘best bet of the season’ during international break and it needs to be seen to be believed

One lucky punter has landed arguably the best bet of the season during the latest international break.

This week, domestic football took a backseat as the UEFA Nations League took center stage.

On Sunday night, Scotland traveled to Lisbon to face Roberto Martinez’s Portugal.

Former Manchester United player Scott McTominay gave Scotland an early lead with a header within the first 10 minutes, causing a stir at the Estádio da Luz.

However, Steve Clarke’s side couldn’t maintain their lead as Bruno Fernandes equalized with a powerful shot from the edge of the penalty area in the 54th minute.

With just two minutes remaining, Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo scored to secure a 2-1 victory.

During the match, one bettor shared on social media that they won £1,965 from a £15 bet. The wager involved Scott McTominay scoring a header and Bruno Fernandes scoring from outside the penalty area, with odds of 130/1.

Responses to the post included:
– “That’s epic that.”
– “That’s the best bet of the season right there.”
– “What a random double, fair play man.”
– “That’s ridiculous, well done.”
– “That’s a f***in peach of a bet man.”
– “That’s a cracker.”

Following this success, the bettor placed another bet for the France vs. Belgium match on Monday night. To win, Kylian Mbappé must score a header, and Kevin De Bruyne must score from outside the penalty area. This bet is priced at 180/1, with a potential return of £2,715.

The 2018 World Cup champions, France, are aiming to recover after their 3-1 defeat to Italy at the Parc des Princes last week.
