Paris Saint-Germain star: Laporta did not offer me a new contract and this is the reason for my departure

Barcelona’s coach is working to strengthen the team in the coming seasons and has pinpointed a potential target who might also attract Real Madrid’s interest in upcoming transfer windows. Barcelona’s severe financial crisis is currently hindering their ability to secure major contracts, a situation evident in the last summer transfer period, unlike Real Madrid, which is thriving on all fronts.

Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Arnau Tenas revealed that he was prepared to sign any contract offered by Barcelona before deciding to join the Parisian club. Tenas, who served as a backup goalkeeper at Barcelona and wished to remain at the club, reflected on his situation despite his departure. The 23-year-old Spanish goalkeeper joined PSG in July 2023 at the behest of his coach, Luis Enrique, marking his first move away from Barcelona, where he had been a part of the youth system since 2016.

In statements to the Spanish radio station Cadena Ser, the Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper mentioned, “I left Barcelona because the club did not offer me a contract renewal.” Tenas added, “I was prepared to sign any contract Barcelona offered, but since no offer came, I ultimately decided to leave.”

Arnau also praised former Barça goalkeeper Víctor Valdés, stating, “He is my role model, and I believe he deserves a proper tribute at Barcelona. Everyone knows the impact Valdés had on the club.”
