During the summer, Nico Williams was a major focus as Barcelona sought to sign the Athletic Club forward. Ultimately, Williams decided to remain with Athletic Club, and his agents have revealed that his decision was driven by his desire to spend another year with the Basque team.

They added, âWeâve had a lot of activity and travel in a short period, which has been quite intense. As the transfer window ends, it can be stressful, but we enjoy it. The player chose to stay because he wanted to spend another year working with us.â
Williams will stay with Athletic Club for the 2024-25 season, but the transfer discussions might resurface next summer. There is already speculation that Barcelona could attempt to sign him again next year.
