Real Madrid consistently aims for excellence, which requires ongoing effort and a commitment to securing top-tier talent for the first team. Last summer, the club achieved a significant milestone by signing French star Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer, fulfilling a long-standing goal of president Florentino Perez.
Real Madrid legend Guti believes the club should now pursue Manchester City star Erling Haaland. Haaland is excelling in the Premier League and is in strong contention for the top scorer title for the third consecutive season.
In comments to the Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Guti noted, “Mbappe started well in the European Super Cup, but the draws in La Liga have created some unrest.” He added, “With Mbappe on board, he’ll need time to adapt, but he’ll improve day by day.” Guti expressed hope that signing Haaland will be Real Madrid’s next target.
Guti concluded by saying, “If I were in a position at Real Madrid, I would sign the Norwegian player immediately without hesitation.”
At 24 years old, Haaland excels as a center forward, with his contract at Manchester City running until June 2027. Since joining City, he has played 103 matches across all competitions, scoring 99 goals and providing 14 assists.
