Robert Lewandowski reportedly turned down a €60 million (£50 million) annual offer from a Saudi Arabian club during the summer transfer window, expressing his desire to remain at Barcelona. Since joining from Bayern Munich in July 2022, the 36-year-old striker has made 100 appearances for the Catalan side, scoring 63 goals and providing 19 assists.
Last season, Lewandowski netted 26 goals and assisted 9 in 49 matches, but there was speculation about his future, especially with two years left on his contract plus an option for an additional year. Despite rumors that Barcelona might consider selling him, he quickly dismissed the lucrative Saudi offer.
So far this season, Lewandowski has been in excellent form, scoring four goals and assisting two in five La Liga games. While some believe he may still consider a move to Saudi Arabia later in his career, his current performance suggests he remains highly competitive at the top level.
Hansi Flick praised Lewandowski’s dedication, stating, “He works hard with the team and presses effectively. He’s fully committed and handles stress well. What a great player.”
