Liverpool identify exciting four man shortlist as they plan for life without Van Dijk

Virgil van Dijk is one of three key players whose contracts expire at the end of the season, alongside Trent Alexander-Arnold and Mohamed Salah.

Whether the 33-year-old remains with Liverpool or departs, the club needs to find a replacement for the Dutch international.

Liverpool has identified four potential successors for Van Dijk. He joined the club from Southampton in 2018 for £75 million and has made 275 appearances, winning numerous titles during his time at Anfield. His eventual departure will be a significant loss.

According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool is proactively preparing for this possibility and has listed four candidates: Gleison Bremer from Juventus, Goncalo Inacio from Sporting Lisbon, Loic Bade from Sevilla, and Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace.

The report suggests that Bremer is seen as an “ideal” fit, while manager Arne Slot reportedly has a strong interest in Inacio, who has a €60 million release clause. For Bade, Liverpool plans to keep an eye on his performances before deciding on a move. Guehi may be available at a lower price next summer if he doesn’t sign a new contract, as he will be entering the final year of his current deal.
