Manchester City fans fumed at one player after their dramatic draw against Arsenal in the Premier League.
On Sunday afternoon, the top two teams in the Premier League faced off at the Etihad Stadium in an exciting matchup.
Manchester City took an early lead within 10 minutes when Erling Haaland scored, matching a record previously held by Cristiano Ronaldo.
However, the hosts suffered a setback when Rodri was injured, allowing Arsenal to take control of the game.
Riccardo Calafiori scored a stunning equalizer in the 22nd minute, followed by Gabriel Magalhaes putting Arsenal ahead 2-1 just before halftime.
In the second half, City dominated possession but struggled to break through Arsenal’s solid defense.
With only seconds remaining, John Stones managed to score for City.
After the match, City fans expressed their frustration with defender Kyle Walker on social media. One fan commented, “Without his pace, Kyle Walker wouldn’t be in the Premier League.” Another suggested, “Let’s take Kyle Walker out behind the Etihad to spare us all.” A third fan stated, “We need to sell Kyle Walker right after this match.” Another added, “Kyle Walker should never play for City again.”
A fifth fan remarked, “Kyle Walker should really think about retiring after that embarrassing display.”
Another added, “I’ve seen Kyle Walker responsible for four goals in his last three matches; he’s been terrible.”
On BBC Radio 5 Live, former Everton midfielder Leon Osman stated, “This could significantly influence the outcome of the Premier League season. They’ve executed quick set-pieces all day and caught Arsenal off guard.”
Meanwhile, Gary Neville commented on Sky Sports, “These are the two best teams in the country. Arsenal came so close in a fierce contest, but the biggest challenges are still ahead.”
Ex-Liverpool player Jamie Carragher noted, “What effect will John Stones’ goal have on the Premier League title race by May?”
