Hansi Flick is said to have identified two Premier League stars he wants to bring to Barcelona this season.
Barcelona will be without their first-choice goalkeeper, Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, for an extended period following successful knee surgery. Ter Stegen was injured during a recent 5-1 victory against Villarreal.
Coach Flick is reportedly considering several potential replacements, making the search for a new goalkeeper a top priority.
According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool’s Alisson is viewed as the leading candidate for the role at Camp Nou. Since joining Liverpool from Roma in 2016, the Brazilian has become a key player for the team.
Additionally, an agreement has been reached for Giorgi Mamardashvili to join Liverpool next summer, which could prompt Barcelona to act quickly.
While Alisson is one of the higher earners at Liverpool, he may be ready for a new challenge. Other names on Flick’s list include Stefan Ortega from Manchester City and Mike Maignan from AC Milan. Ortega was rumored to be interested in leaving City this summer but ultimately decided to extend his contract.
The exact cost of signing Alisson or Ortega remains uncertain, but reports indicate that AC Milan has set a price tag of âŹ50-60 million for Maignan.
Alisson has been candid about his future at Liverpool, acknowledging interest from other clubs, including those in Saudi Arabia. “Yes, they had interest,” he said in an interview with The Times.
He emphasized his commitment to honoring his contract or negotiating a new one, expressing satisfaction with his life at Liverpool and his family’s happiness.
Alisson mentioned, “I never reached the stage of discussing wages; it was simply interest. However, hearing about the salaries of other players can be tempting, which is normal.
“The club needs to plan for the future. We’re not going to be here forever, and while I’m still relatively young for a goalkeeper, I have a lot to offer and want to contribute as much as possible to this club.”
