Exclusive: Astronomical offers expected to arrive for major Liverpool star in coming weeks

The 2024/25 season may be Mohamed Salah’s final one at Liverpool, as Saudi Arabian clubs are actively pursuing him as a potential free agent next year.

Salah’s contract at Anfield expires at the end of the season, and there has been no indication of a new agreement for the 32-year-old so far.

Saudi Arabia aims to capitalize on Salah’s situation, having previously shown interest. Last summer, Al Ittihad made significant efforts to sign him, but Liverpool rejected substantial offers to retain him.

In June 2024, Al Ittihad reopened discussions, speculating that Jurgen Klopp’s departure might sway Salah’s choice, but the likelihood of a deal remained low.

As Salah approaches free agency in 2025, the Public Investment Fund (PIF) is changing its approach to secure a pre-contract by January or February. Sources indicate that PIF is preparing a lucrative 2+1-year contract with a massive salary.

Salah has been in discussions with Saudi clubs for several years, and the PIF is expected to formally present its offer soon. There’s strong confidence that the Liverpool star will accept their terms, potentially leading to his arrival in the 2025/26 season.

Al Ittihad is a leading candidate, but other teams like Al Hilal, Al Nassr, and Al Ahli—also backed by PIF—are viable options as well.

Liverpool is preparing for the potential departure of Mohamed Salah at the end of the season, and finding a replacement will be a challenging task.

The 32-year-old has scored 216 goals and provided 93 assists in 357 appearances for the club, including five goals and four assists this season, showing he remains a key player.

According to CaughtOffside, Liverpool is eyeing Real Sociedad’s Takefusa Kubo as a prime candidate to fill Salah’s shoes. Other players under consideration include Bundesliga stars Karim Adeyemi and Leroy Sane.

The upcoming months will be critical for these prospects as Salah’s tenure at Liverpool nears its conclusion.
