Barcelona has officially signed Wojciech Szczesny on a contract that lasts until the end of the current season, to cover for Marc ter Stegen’s long-term absence due to a serious injury that will sideline him for an entire year.
Szczesny accepted Barcelona’s offer after initially announcing his retirement, despite having a valid contract with Juventus and turning down attractive offers from the Saudi league. He ultimately chose to answer Barcelona’s call. La Liga granted Barcelona special permission to sign a new goalkeeper, provided he was a free agent, which the veteran Polish player fulfilled.
