Last summer, Ansu Fati returned to FC Barcelona after a year-long loan at Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League. With a change in management at the club, the La Masia graduate was eager to secure a significant role under new coach Hansi Flick.
However, after impressing during a few training sessions, he suffered an injury that sidelined him from the pre-season tour in the USA and the early matches of the season.
Currently, Fati finds himself at the bottom of Barcelona’s attacking hierarchy, having played just 28 minutes so far. His situation isn’t expected to improve soon, as even Pau Victor is favored over him in Flick’s plans.
Given these circumstances, SPORT reports that Barcelona now believes the best option for Fati would be to find a new team where he can gain regular playing time and regain his form. The club plans to seek a new destination for him in January, but this will only happen if they return to a stable position.
Barcelona is not giving up on Ansu Fati. In fact, they fully support him and want him to have more playing time, which seems challenging in the current team structure.
To address this, a meeting is scheduled with his agent, Jorge Mendes. Several clubs in Spain are interested in the €25 million-rated player and may consider a loan, but ultimately, the choice will be up to Fati.
A final decision is expected in November, taking into account both sporting and financial factors, as Flick will want to avoid losing more players if Barcelona can’t secure replacements.
