Liverpool’s stance on Dani Caravajal injury possible hint at Trent Alexander-Arnold future

Liverpool has stated that they will not engage in negotiations with Real Madrid regarding the potential transfer of Trent Alexander-Arnold in the January window.

Carlo Ancelotti’s team faced a significant setback when Dani Carvajal sustained a serious knee injury during Saturday’s La Liga match against Villarreal. The 32-year-old suffered the injury after colliding with Yeremy Pino late in Madrid’s 2-0 victory at the Santiago Bernabeu.

In tears, Carvajal later confirmed on Instagram that he had suffered a “serious cruciate ligament injury,” which will keep him sidelined for several months.

With Carvajal out, the urgency to find a replacement has intensified, despite Ancelotti having Nacho, another experienced player, available. Trent Alexander-Arnold has been the primary target linked to Madrid for this role.

The England international’s contract at Anfield expires at the end of the season, making him a viable target for the 15-time European champions. However, even with their appeal, securing his signing will be challenging for Real Madrid.

Liverpool is likely to do everything possible to retain their homegrown 25-year-old. While Madrid is considering a mid-season move for the talented full-back, reports from Fichajes suggest they may face disappointment in their efforts.
