**Raphinha Reflects on Position Change at Barcelona**
Raphinha has revealed that he initially struggled with Hansi Flick’s suggestion to alter his position this season. Since joining from Leeds, he had primarily played on the wings but has recently been moved to a more central role, where he has performed well.
In an interview with Globo, Raphinha admitted he wasn’t thrilled about the change at first, preferring his familiar role that allowed him a clearer view of the field. “At first, when we discussed changing positions, I didn’t take it well. It felt much more comfortable to play with my back to the stands,” he said.
However, he acknowledged that adapting was necessary for regular playing time at a top club. “Over time, I realized that to succeed in a big team or national team, you must be willing to evolve and change,” he explained.
Raphinha emphasized that this shift was not only beneficial for him but for the team as well. He noted conversations with other players who have also adapted to new positions throughout their careers, finding success in doing so.
He concluded that understanding this adaptability has been key to his growth, reinforcing that playing in different roles can enhance both individual and team performance. With the national team, Brazil’s coach Dorival Jr is expected to utilize Raphinha in a similar role during the upcoming international break.
