According to Florian Plettenberg on X, Klopp has secured an exit option in his contract that allows him to become the head coach of the Germany national team in the future, potentially succeeding Julian Nagelsmann.
While the primary focus of Klopp’s new role involves advisory responsibilities for the five clubs owned by Red Bull, this clause suggests a clear intention on his part to eventually coach his national team. Given that the company’s headquarters are in Austria, it’s unlikely they would have included this option unless Klopp specifically requested it.
Klopp has always honored his contracts, indicating a strong desire to lead the national team one day. The opportunity for him to manage during a home Euros was previously on the table, but the demands of life at Anfield necessitated a longer break.
