Barcelona’s 17-year-old defender Pau Cubarsí recently shared his thoughts on who he believes is the best player in the world during an interview with SPORT. To many’s surprise, the player he selected does not play for Barcelona. When asked, Cubarsí confidently mentioned, “Rodri.”
For the young Spanish defender, Rodri, the midfield star from Manchester City, stands out as the top player in the world. After a remarkable season with both his club and national team, Rodri has emerged as a strong contender for the upcoming Ballon d’Or, making Cubarsí’s choice understandable.
However, Rodri is currently out due to an ACL injury, which will keep him off the field for the rest of the season, creating a significant gap for both Manchester City and the Spanish national team.
