After just one season at Liverpool and following Jurgen Klopp’s departure, fans were shocked when Wataru Endo announced he would be leaving the club in January. This decision came after a superior club to Liverpool made a surprising offer. The club has agreed to let Endo depart during the January transfer window.

Inter Milan is reportedly interested in signing Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo, according to InterLive.it. The Japanese player has had limited playing time this season under new manager Arne Slot.

The change in management, with Jurgen Klopp leaving and Slot taking over, has significantly impacted Endo’s situation, as Slot’s team selections suggest he’s not in the midfielder’s plans. The emergence of Ryan Gravenberch has further pushed Endo to the sidelines, with Gravenberch now a regular in the lineup.

Endo has only made two brief appearances in the league this season, as Liverpool has climbed to the top of the Premier League, winning six of their seven matches without him. Inter Milan sees Endo as a valuable addition to their midfield, despite his age, and a move away from Liverpool could rejuvenate his career, given the uncertainty surrounding his future under Slot.

Previously, Liverpool attempted to sign Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, but the Euro 2024 winner declined the move at the last minute. It appears Slot prefers a different style of midfielder, and while he might retain Endo until a suitable replacement is found, Liverpool would likely consider letting him go if Inter Milan presents an offer. Additionally, Slot is reportedly looking into signing a former player to strengthen Liverpool’s midfield.
