Newcastle United is still interested in Ferran Torres, having made several summer offers that Barcelona rejected. Joan Laporta and Deco were unhappy with the proposal from Newcastle, which included €15 million fixed and €5 million in variables for the Spanish winger. This resulted in Torres remaining under Hansi Flick’s management.
According to El Nacional, although Barcelona wants to move on from Torres, they are reluctant to sell a player they invested heavily in. They urged Newcastle’s owners to improve their offer significantly, but when that didn’t happen, negotiations fell through. However, there may be another chance in January, especially given Torres’s ongoing struggles at Barcelona. Eddie Howe still views him as a potential asset, and Hansi Flick is not opposed to letting him go.
Newcastle is preparing a new offer for Ferran Torres worth €20 million, along with including a player who might interest Barcelona, such as Kieran Trippier. Trippier has indicated a desire to join a club that offers Champions League participation.
For Hansi Flick, Trippier would be a valuable addition for Barcelona in the second half of the season as they approach crucial matches. Currently, Barcelona has only Jules Koundé at right-back, and Flick lacks confidence in the young Héctor Fort, who may be sent out on loan. Adding the England international would significantly strengthen the squad.
Additionally, Trippier’s prior experience in La Liga with Atlético Madrid makes him an appealing option for Barcelona.
